The first day of Spring happens to be the International Day of Healthy Sleep. In the past, healthy sleep did not have much significance, however, with the increase of a pace of life and stress combined with sedentary jobs it has become a frequently discussed topic. Nowadays, Insomnia and sleep deprivation affect more and more people. This needs to be addressed not only in kids, but in older people and seniors, who often need specific equipment for their sleep. Because of this, we have asked a specialist Mr. Radim Čech, a managing director of the company INVIRA

  1. When people are choosing an adjustable bed for their parents of relatives, what are the basic parameters for choosing one?

Our company is mainly contacted by customers, who need an adjustable bed, either for themselves or their relatives, as a compensatory aid. It helps people with standing up, moving, positioning, eating, hygiene, and verbal communication. Unfortunately, I have to say that people still tend to pick them based on the price, which corresponds to the quality and its equipment. In this case, people choose the one with the most equipment from our refurbished beds, which are more available than a completely new bed with the same quality and equipment.

  1. Undoubtedly, a choice of mattress is a part of every bed. What should you look for in a mattresses?

When choosing a mattress it is important to consider for what purpose you want it and how much time will someone spend on the mattress. In our industry, people are dependent to lie on their mattresses for a long time. It is then necessary for the mattress to contain an anti decubitus programme, technological modification of a mattress in order to avoid the formation of pressure ulcers. Another important part of the mattress is a coating cover which should be vapor permeable, and washable in washing machine for 90°C, for patients suffering from urinary incontinence. There are also anti decubitus mattresses, which contain a compressor – they are more effective against pressure ulcers, but they are usually a part of normal foam mattress thus it is an addition.

  1. Is it possible to try and see the mattress before buying it?

Of course, our company offers 200 types of products. After an agreement, it is possible to see any type of product in our shop in Prague or Ostrava. It should be after an agreement because we were to have all the types of products in our shops, we would need a hall as big as an airport for Jumbo Jet planes in order to get it all in.

Thank you for the interview.
