A healthy, good night’s sleep together with the right lying position support both the body and mind. Moreover, the medical condition of clients during home health care might be improved by this as well. Do you know the right lying positions to help you sleep well? Ones, during which your spine, muscles, and joints are fully resting?
Clients with healthy backs may lie in the supine position – on their backs. Together with a quality mattress, a healthy spine alignment is ensured.
The least suitable position is the so-called fetal position, lying curled. Most people stoop all day – when sitting at a table, watching television, etc., and this unhealthy bending of the spine then continues by twisting into a curled position during sleep. Without compensating the stretching of muscles on the front of the torso and the spine, problems such as breathing complications may occur.
A tall pillow is unsuitable as well, as it keeps the head up and bends the cervical spine forward too much.
